Your Streak
The days in a row you have written something down, what counts as a day, and the stepping stones that mark how far you have come.
Writing a little every day lifts your mood and lowers your stress, and the hard part is never the writing. It is coming back. Your streak counts the days in a row you have written something down, and it sits at the top of the Progress tab as a flame with a number beside it.
What Counts as a Day
Three things extend your streak, and any one of them is enough:
- Write a freeform journal entry — the fastest route. See freeform journaling.
- Turn a chat into a journal entry — finish a conversation or an experience and save it to your journal.
- Take a check-in and save it — a check-in ends in a journal entry like any other experience.
What they have in common is a new journal entry. Reading, browsing and chatting without saving do not count.
Miss a day and your streak goes back to zero. Your longest streak is kept, and so is everything your garden has grown.
The Stepping Stones
Under the flame runs a path of stones. Each stone is a milestone — 1, 3, 7, 14, 30, 60, 100 and 365 days — and four of them are on screen at a time, with the path sliding along as you move. When your longest streak falls among those four, a small flag marks it, so on the way back you can see exactly where your best sits.
The line under the path tells you the next one: Next stage in 4 days, Next stage tomorrow, or Next stage today when you are one entry away.
Reaching a stone does two things at once: it lights up on the path, and your garden grows.
Today, and Whether It Is Done
Everything on the card follows one rule. Until today's entry exists the flame is grey and the path ahead is dashed, and the moment an entry saves it all lights up. The subtitle changes with it:

On a milestone day the subtitle celebrates instead — A full week. Keep going! at seven days, A full month. That is a habit. at thirty.
How Your Streak Works
Tap How it works under the path for the whole thing in one sheet: the three ways a day counts, the rule about missing a day, and a preview of the garden — the eight stages, the eight animals that move in, and the four seasons your garden wears. Stages you have not reached yet are shown as dashed rings, so you can see how far the ladder runs without spoiling what is on it.
Your Streak, Day by Day
Tap the streak card itself to see what is behind the number: every day of the current streak, with the journal entries you wrote on it. Each row shows the time, the title and the opening lines, and tapping one opens the entry.
The Flame in the Home Header
You do not have to open the Progress tab to know where you stand. A small flame sits in the top-right of Home, beside the bell, and it has three states:
- No number, muted — no streak yet.
- A number with a grey flame — your streak is alive but today is still open.
- A number with a lit flame — today is written.
Tap it to jump to the Progress tab.
The Saved Card
Save a journal entry that extends your streak and a small Saved card appears on the entry. Under the title it stacks two rows, each one a door. Streak carries the flame and the day you have just reached, and opens the Progress tab. Garden sits below it with the picture your writing has grown, and opens the garden. On the day you reach a stone that row reads New stage, and on the day the season turns it reads Entered Fall.
Tips
- Days follow your own timezone — a streak day closes at your midnight, wherever you are.
- Two lines are enough — a freeform entry has no minimum. On a day with nothing to say, say that.
- Late in the day, Home will remind you — if a live streak is still unwritten by the evening, a nudge card appears on Home with two one-tap ways to keep it.
- Losing a streak costs you nothing you earned — your longest streak stays on the card, and every garden stage you reached comes back as the new streak passes it.

A garden that grows a new stage every time your streak reaches a milestone, keeps every stage you reach, and changes with the season on its own.
